Presley and I have been stuck in the house for the past 3 days because we are potty training (more on that later) So I feel like I am losing my mind just a little. Ha! I think these crazy pictures really express my feelings right now. CRAZY! (On another note, she is doing great with the potty training. I'm just going a little stir crazy.)
I was eating toast with jelly when Presley decided that she needed a bite. She made such a mess that we had to take a picture. All of this posing was her completely on her own. She is one goofy girl. Maybe she is going a little crazy too.
For Father's Day this year we had Presley help us make the gifts. We painted canvases and then put a cute little saying that said, "The best dads get promoted to Papa/Poppa". Presley had only painted a few other times. And every time she has hated it because. She doesn't like to get her hands or dirty. Or at least she didn't used to.
As soon as she started painting and got her hands dirty she was a little hesitant. But after a few minutes of realizing it was ok, she decided to paint her entire body! It was great. Plus, we ended up using one of the pictures to put on the present and it made it even better. Thankfully the paint washes off very easily. We will definitely be painting a lot more this summer.
Yesterday we celebrated Father's Day with Drew's family. Drew had a wedding on Saturday, so P and I drove down on Saturday to swim a little. Then Drew met us on Sunday. Last time we came to swim was on Memorial Day weekend. Presley enjoyed the pool, but she did not want us to let her go. She wanted to be held the entire time. This weekend was a totally different story.
We put on her floaties and got in on Saturday evening. Almost instantly she didn't want me to help her do anything. Once she got the hang of her floaties she was swimming around like a little fish. She would get in at the steps, swim all the way to the deep end to get to out at the ladder, then walk around the pool and do it again. We of course would swim right next to her, but we almost never helped her. She didn't want us to.
She basically stayed in the pool from about 1-5. She had the best time swimming around like a little fish. We were all so impressed with how well she was moving around with her floaties. I got a little nervous when she was in the deep end, but we were right there with her so it was fine. I'm so glad she loves the water so much. It makes it so much fun to be able to actually "swim" with her. Now it's really time for those swimming lessons we've been putting off all summer.
I love that in the summer we get to do whatever we want to do! Most days we don't even make plans (which is weird for me) and we just do whatever.
This week we went to storytime at the library on Monday. We met my friend Rachel and her daughter Linlee. We had a great time reading and playing with the toys at the library. On Tuesday our neighbor friend, Jenna, came over to play all morning. It was so hot outside so we only got to stay for a little bit before the fun moved inside. Then on Friday we met my friend Rachel and Linlee at Petco. It was a fun way to entertain the kids in the air condition. We had a great week! Now we are ready for the weekend.
Yesterday I had few errands to do in the morning. While I was gone Drew, once again, came up with a fun way to entertain our daughter. He never ceases to amaze me at his creative ideas for her. He's such a good (and crazy!) daddy.
We don't normally put Presley in a dress to go play outside. But this was after her nap on Sunday, and we just hadn't changed clothes. I love it though. It shows her personality so well. She is such a girly girl but she loves being outside and getting dirty.
I love summer time when we get to play outside ALL day. I hate that it's starting to really feel like summer and getting way too hot to be outside all day. We normally try to go out later in the afternoon, we eat dinner outside, and we stay out as late as we can. I just love summertime!
